I disagree. Your post is obviously trying to defame this guesthouse. I'm not white and stayed at Asha and was treated cordially by all the staff, especially the owner. I recommend this guesthouse and will be staying here again soon.

Asha is 'home' to myself and others, only reluctantly leaving it for the inevitable visa run. Everyone who lives and works here is helpful and friendly. The pool is a godsend on a humid day. All nationalities which makes life interesting. Definitely, one of the best guesthouses in Bangkok, and very convenient for Chatachuk Market.

This is a fantastic guest house - very good value for money with added bonus of pool for dipping and wifi. Location is good - easy access to town via skytrain and you get to see a more Thai way of life than Khao San (but you can still get there easily for a night out if you want to!) We stayed for 5 weeks and would definitley return. To all at Asha - hope you are well and you'll be glad to know it is sunny but cold back here in the UK!

Simply great: staff, food, the pool, fun guests, easy decompression. We keep coming back every time we're in BKK.

I really enjoyed my stay at your guesthouse. you really made me comfortable and safe there. The facilities are definitely a bonus!! The pool was very refreshing after a long day of enjoying the city. Nice to grab a beer and play pool. The prices are GREAT!!! Its definitely worth staying with you again. Conveniently located, quiet location, and close to the weekend market and the skytrain. Thanks for making my vacation.

Hi, we've stay at Asha from 28/2 - 3/3/09. The nearest BTS is Saphan Kwai, 15-20mins walk to the guest house, you can take a tuk tuk that cost 40b to get there. But if you walk you'll find a lot of food stalls around and one of the stall that sell sticky rice is so tasty. =P It's also just 10mins walk to Big C too. We didnt really use the facilities there since after 1 whole day of shopping, we're pretty tired but the environment it's nice. As for the room it's quite basic, shared bathroom (Unisex) but it's clean, definately worth the price paid for. They've free service drop you to Chatucak weekend market on 10am, thanks for that. And thanks for being so helpful to get us a cap to airport and it's just cost 230b, it's so worth it for 5 of us. We'll come back to try the banana pan cake next time since so many reviews said it's taste good.... Thanks.

  Dear Asha guesthouse.

Myself and my girlfriend stayed with you for five nights backin July 2008. I have got to say you really 'made' bangkok for us. The hospitality was great, the rooms cheap and comfy and just overall brilliant. We spent every night there winding down after a busy day with a meal and a few beers. The prices are fantastic and the food, top class. We never exerienced such good food whilst on our 3 month travels. The pool is a bonus which supplied us with a place to relax in the sun and later in the day. You were honetly the 'suprise' hostel for us. We thought because of the price, situation and the nature of Bangkok itself that your hostel would be a little basic, poorly run and forgetable. However this is not the case and you have become a place close to our hearts.

Yours sincerely

Matt and Lauren

to all of you out there,
we went to asha guest house, from december 10th till december 24th. it was excellent, we are two males who travelled from leicester, uk... if u r looking for a hotel my recommendations is, dont bother. this is better than a hotel. it is excellent has everything u need. the only thing is u have to share the bathrooms. but there are lots of bathrooms on the floor and toilets. so its not a problem. trust me, it is excellent, best place to stay and best of all , it is too cheap and excellent value for money. staff are the best. lovely. and exciting! if u want to know more do email me at : rajan_keshav@hotmail.com . take care. and safe trip to all of u out there. any questions regarding airport, tourist places and all . please do let me know.ill be any help i can be off. take care

I stayed in the Guesthouse twice during my time in thailand in Jan/Feb 08. Location wise its great if coming from Airport. Also very close to the massive weekend market and sky train. Staff are great very welcoming and helpful, food was great and also very cheap. Overall fantastic, only let down (altho it never put me off going back) was the mattresses are rock hard so had to sleep on the spare pillows. For those of you with a bad back then great for anyone who prefers sleeping on a marshmallow then be prepared. They make up for the loss of comfort by good old english owners that make you feel safe and sound.
